A year dedicated to studying and experiencing the holidays contained within the Jewish calendar and attempting to make a case for their continued relevancy in our present day and age.

This year we are embarking on an Adult Education journey in which we individually reconnect with Judaism thru the exploration of the Jewish Holidays and Commemorative Days. The course will evolve around the book “ My Jewish Year – 18 holidays, one wondering Jew” by Abigail Pogrebin.

This well-known author recognizes later in life that she is functionally illiterate when it comes to the structure of her own religion (and now the religion of her children). She seeks to learn more while maintaining a sense of objectivity as to what resonates with her and what does not. It’s a story about the search for meaningful religious experience in our time.
