Shabbat services at Congregation Beth Shalom are held at 6:30 p.m. every Friday, and at 9:00 a.m. every Sabbath morning. Our spirit-filled services include a blend of traditional and innovative prayers, drawing upon classic liturgical melodies as well as Hassidic style niggunim. Although the shared text is Siddur Sim Shalom, often the Rabbis infuse the service with alternative modes of prayer, including chanting and the use of silence.
Post-B’nai Mitzvah students are encouraged to read Torah, Haftorah, and Megillah on Purim, a tradition indicative of the importance of youth in our congregation. Children are invited onto the bima to participate in selected prayers. B’nai Mitzvah celebrations are communal events, and often countywide. A full Kiddush luncheon prepared by congregants is enjoyed weekly after services.
Weekday minyan is held on Sunday at 9:00 a.m., Monday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. followed by a light breakfast after the service.
Child-care is available during all prayer services and other synagogue functions.
