High Holiday Message
Today we sounded the last shofar of the month of Elul. Tomorrow morning we pause in the stillness of that quiet. For a brief moment, before the traffic begins and the wind begins to blow, listen for the coming of the New Year. We made no proclamation on the past Shabbat, for this new moon is like no other. We have been waiting in different ways of readiness to begin again. This place in time brings us the opportunity for gratitude, for relief, for the realization of all that we have accomplished in the past year, and to begin our plans for the next. Blessed are You, our God and Ruler of the universe who has given us the strength to endure our hardships and challenges, and who has set before us a table of delicious joys whose taste are set in our memory, and may this coming year be even sweeter than the last.
May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year
